88 Keys Rehearsal Photographs

A few weeks ago we presented an early development showing of the new musical 88 Keys at Steinway Hall.

Written by the brilliant Kitty Morgan, this piece is every bit as funny, jagged, emotionally intelligent and original as you’d expect – exploring the messy contradictions of modern womanhood in such an incredibly truthful way.

It was a privilege to help shape the work in the room alongside Kitty, and to hear it brought to life by the extraordinary Sally Dexter, Molly Lynch and Adam Morris, with producer Anthony Lilley and Production Director Terri-Jayne Griffin supporting the development through Scenario Two.

We shared the piece with an audience of around 40 people – a mixture of industry supporters, Steinway guests, friends and family – hearing it for the very first time. Their responses were incredibly generous. The show really spoke to people, and it was fascinating to discover which moments landed hardest and where audiences recognised themselves inside the material.

And doing all of that surrounded by beautiful Steinway pianos in every direction, with such warmth and generosity from the team at Steinway & Sons, felt very special indeed.

Very excited about where this one could go next.
